It was a pleasure meeting all the people in Tampa.   The folks were professional, helpful and understood how challenging it is to absorb all the information in a short period of time.  My “take homes” centered on the introduction and training of DCI’s sophisticated software as well as our broad service offering.  The fact DCI has all the aspects of moving product; be it traditional modes, international, air or ocean we seem to have the people and the menus to make it happen.

Michael [Knight] did an excellent job demonstrating the software’s effectiveness and the “why” it is customer friendly.   His efforts along with the time he allotted to insure I had a complete grasp of implementing the software and its functions has me well prepared to work with my customers Monday morning.

Because of my LTL background, I felt the training focused on many of the key areas.  Michael [Knight] was quick to explain how DCI interfaces with both the customer and the carriers routinely.  He outlined how to prioritize and manage the daily activities such as; pick-ups, invoicing, billing disputes, carrier terminal contact, the different options to pricing, and presented his spread sheet for calculating “uplift”.  These areas coupled with the DCI philosophies of how you do business was very beneficial.

Critical to this productive week was the “hands on time” allowed to practice what was being taught.  After each session it seemed as though one was exposed to a workshop where one had time to work with the product.  I would strongly recommend that style be continued.  Waiting till the end of the day to retrace the steps of a training session leaves too much room for lost comprehension.

Trey [Bowmar] and Kristen [Naugle] wrapped up my session covering collections, compensation, benefits, and personal and company goals.  So, I feel it was a great program and a productive week.  I want to thank all of Tampa for their hearty welcome and patience. -Ron Nelson; Sales Associate Fort Lauderdale
